Caring for the environment means caring for people

In June, the month in which we celebrate World Environment Day, ABMTHS invites us to reflect on a form of care that goes beyond the preservation of nature: - Care for life, for nature, and for people.

Climate change and environmental degradation are already directly impacting people’s lives, especially those in the most vulnerable communities.

In this context, social projects play a fundamental role in promoting environmental education and encouraging sustainable habits, thereby strengthening the communities where they operate.

More than just preserving natural resources, these initiatives contribute to fostering more environmentally conscious citizens and communities, while also demonstrating how care for the environment and social transformation are deeply interconnected.

In various projects supported by ABMTHS, the environment is experienced daily as a tool for education, community building, health, and social transformation.

More than just theoretical content, these experiences foster a sense of belonging, respect for nature, and a more attentive outlook toward the future of the planet and the communities where they live.

In an increasingly fast-paced world, this space also serves as an invitation to come together, listen, and reflect, since caring for the environment also means ensuring dignity, health, a sense of belonging, and hope for future generations.

When social projects promote environmental education—by creating vegetable gardens, valuing green spaces, and strengthening ties to local communities—they not only care for the environment but also for people. This commitment contributes to building a more humane, sustainable, and compassionate society, where care for life and for our Common Home go hand in hand.
