There are feelings that cannot be put into words, but can be sensed in a smile, a hug, an achievement, or a new beginning.

Gratitude is one of them, and it arises when someone is given an opportunity, regains self-esteem, learns a trade, starts dreaming again, and realizes they are not alone.

Every day, the projects supported by ABMTHS welcome children, adolescents, young adults, seniors, and families who arrive carrying different stories, challenges, and dreams. In each of these spaces, they find much more than just assistance: - They find people willing to listen, teach, encourage, and walk alongside them. And you don’t even need to hear the word “gratitude” to realize it’s there… In a gesture of self-confidence, as they express themselves to show the world the value of each individual!

There are many stories of people who have discovered new opportunities, rebuilt their self-esteem, developed their talents, and found hope through welcoming hands and hearts that practice solidarity in every gesture. And those same welcoming hands are also grateful!

The power of welcome and solidarity is far greater than we can imagine. A minute of listening to those living on the streets, a hug for someone in a state of emotional vulnerability, or welcoming young people who don’t believe they’re capable of changing their future—all of this generates such a wave of gratitude that it inspires every volunteer, every supporter, and also many of those we welcome to keep believing in and doing what many consider a utopian dream: transforming the life of a fellow human being!

It’s like a snowball that keeps rolling, growing, and drawing everyone around it into a great chain of goodness! A feeling that overwhelms the heart and spurs the emergence of new actions and projects. And gratitude is also born in the hearts of those who live each day to help, to welcome, and to give new meaning to the pain of others.
