Working all week long, from Monday to Saturday, with technical classes in classical, contemporary, and character ballet, the Project has already reached its target for 2023: - 200 children and teenagers are participating in the activities.
According to Ivonete Pereira dos Santos, the Ballet Arte coordinator, there was a considerable increase in participation compared to last year. The classes are very interested and the families also show satisfaction with the work developed with the children and teenagers.
The benefits of the project are noticeable in the discipline, concentration, emotional balance, self-esteem, self-confidence, joy, and happiness of both the children and their families, bringing better school performance and family relationships, in addition to dealing with good physical health. In general, the project has been very important in the lives of all the children, teenagers, and young people who have been and are still in the Ballet.
From April until June, the activities were intense, with classes and presentations. The month of dance was celebrated with a talent show where the students brought free choreographies. Easter was also celebrated with a beautiful presentation.
Another important event was the celebration of Mother's Day, celebrated in the Monastery's mass with the participation of the local community. A small ballet class made a beautiful tribute to the mothers by dancing to the song "Ave Maria".
The most recent Ballet Arte event was the Choreographic Showcase with the theme: Multiple Versions. The dancers performed on the stage of a neighboring school with elaborate and creative choreography and a beautiful repertoire. The families present were happy with the event, especially the newcomers when they saw their daughters perform for the first time.
