Book *Prophets of Hope for the Poor* Launched in Aparecida do Norte

At the end of August, we experienced a very special moment in Aparecida do Norte, São Paulo, as a dream of one of the directors of ABMTHS, Dr. John Sieh, came true: the launch of the book *Prophets of Hope for the Poor*.
The book was conceived and organized by John Sieh in collaboration with Caio Henrique Sponton, a professor and scholar of religion, who, together with Father Edvaldo Manoel de Araújo (C.Ss.R.) and Father Manoel Godoy, wrote the texts. The foreword was written by Friar Carlos Mesters.
The launch of the book, published by Santuário, featured various events at the National Shrine of Aparecida, including appearances on the Aparecida television network, live interviews, a book signing, and a celebration that brought together faith, remembrance, and gratitude.
The book arose from the desire to keep alive and present the memory of three priests of the Catholic Church who made their life’s journey a commitment to the poor, the most vulnerable, and those who so often remain on the margins: Bishop Helder, Bishop Luciano Almeida, and Bishop José Maria Pires.
Mais do que recordar histórias, Profetas da Esperança dos Pobres nos convida a conhecer um legado que continua falando ao presente e inspirando novos caminhos de solidariedade, cuidado e esperança.
For us, this book launch also holds something very special: the certainty that some stories span generations and continue to inspire when they find those willing to tell them, preserve them, and pass them on.
*Prophets of Hope for the Poor* is, above all, a memory that remains alive, encouraging solidarity and care for our brothers and sisters in vulnerable situations.
